Product Overview
904L Stainless Steel Wire Mesh is a super austenitic stainless steel mesh made of 904L alloy, which is a low-carbon, high-nickel, high-molybdenum and copper-containing material. It is recognized as the "corrosion-resistant king" in the filtration industry, with far superior corrosion resistance than 316L and 317L stainless steel mesh. It is specially designed for harsh working environments such as strong acid, high chloride, and seawater, and is widely used in industrial filtration, chemical processing, marine engineering and other fields that require high corrosion resistance.
Superior Corrosion Resistance
• PREN (Pitting Resistance Equivalent Number) ≥ 35, far higher than 316L (≈23). It can resist various concentrations of sulfuric acid, phosphoric acid, acetic acid and other organic/inorganic acids at room temperature to 70℃; it has excellent resistance to pitting corrosion, crevice corrosion and stress corrosion cracking (SCC) in chloride environments such as seawater and brine.
Excellent Mechanical Properties
• Tensile strength ≥ 490 MPa, yield strength ≥ 220 MPa, elongation ≥ 35%, good toughness and ductility, easy to process (weaving, cutting, forming) without breaking. It is completely non-magnetic, suitable for occasions requiring no magnetic interference.
High Temperature Resistance
Long-term service temperature ≤ 300℃, short-term can reach 400℃, stable performance under high temperature and high humidity conditions, no deformation or corrosion.
Easy Processing & Welding
• Good weldability, recommended welding material ER385 (AWS A5.14); ultra-low carbon design, no intergranular corrosion risk after welding. It can be processed into various forms such as woven mesh, sintered mesh and filter elements.
Hygienic & Durable
Smooth and clean surface, easy to clean, in line with FDA/ISO hygiene standards; long service life, 2-3 times that of 316L stainless steel mesh, reducing replacement costs
